They asked me about my favorite stuff to do with the kids and how I deal with disagreements within the team, and they really wanted to know how much I wanted to be a teacher there.

I applied online and did the online questionnaire. About a week later I got a call asking to set up a phone interview. If you pass that (i did) you get to schedule an interview with the director or assistant director of the location you're applying for. Interview took about a half hour and then the director showed me around building. She asked if i'd like to come back and do observations (you go in each room for about 20 minutes to see how they work). If the director and the other employees like you after that they will extend an offer to you. Having experience with children is preferred and your pay will be much higher if you do.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • How would you keep toddlers' attention and make transitions smooth when moving between activities?
  • How would you handle a situation where a parent asks about a mark on their child, and you haven't seen it or been present for most of the day?

The interviewer was rude and seemed uninterested in getting to know me, she kept asking about my availability even after I explained it multiple times. She said she'd talk to her manager and call me back in a few days for a follow-up phone interview, but I never heard back from them. They didn't even bother to let me know if I got the job or not, which I think is basic courtesy.

I saw the job on Indeed.com and applied. Got a call a few weeks later to set up an interview. When I got there, the Director had to leave to do bus runs, so the team lead interviewed me instead. They called the next day to offer me the job. I went back for paperwork and then started after the holidays.
