Great Interview But No Follow Up
The application had some thought-provoking questions. The initial phone call with a representative was quite straightforward. The questions asked during the call were a bit more in-depth than those on the application. The subsequent Zoom meeting involved discussing scenarios related to mentor conferences.
- How do you view racism in the context of education?
Research Associate
I applied online and heard back from them the very next day about an interview. The whole thing was supposed to be done in a week. I'm not sure if they actually read my resume or cover letter, because I'm currently in school, and they mentioned they needed someone within the month.
- The recruiter spoke about salary and start date before I could even answer.
- I wasn't given a chance to ask any questions.
Project Associate
I went through three rounds of interviews for this role. The first was a phone call, then a Skype interview, and the last one was in person. While the first two interviews went okay, the in-person one and everything after was pretty bad. They scheduled the interview for 2:00 pm and wouldn't change it. After the interview, the interviewer was really dismissive. As I was leaving and closing the door, they shut it forcefully. It felt like the interviewer had already made up their mind. I waited a week for a response, which felt like a long time for a third-round interview. When I finally called HR, they casually told me I didn't get the job and that they were too busy to notify me sooner. It took another two weeks to get the official rejection email. The HR team was really rude, unprofessional, and dismissive throughout the whole process.
- What makes you the best candidate for this role?
Project Associate
So there were two interview rounds. First, I spoke with Project Supervisors, and then with Project Managers. After each interview, there was a short technical task, like organizing a spreadsheet or writing an email.
- What's your approach to handling multiple competing tasks?
