& Process

I interviewed for an RN specialty clinic position and never heard back. The manager really highlighted their onboarding and nurse training, saying the clinic was professional, organized, and offered some flexibility. She seemed a bit smug about how great their system and benefits were.

It took me about 2 and a half months from applying to finding out they weren't moving forward with me. About 2 weeks after applying, I got an email for a webcam interview. The questions popped up one by one, 4 total. I had 30 seconds to read each and 2 minutes to answer. Around 2 weeks later, I got another email saying I was in their 'RN talent pool.' Another couple of weeks passed, and then I got an email to schedule a phone interview. After that, I actually went to the unit to interview with the nurse manager and shadow a nurse for 4 hours. My only complaint is feeling strung along for over 2 months when I could have been working somewhere else.

I applied for a position in a brand new unit that wasn't going to start for nearly a year. The hiring process took quite a while, but the recruiter was great about keeping me in the loop and was really open about how interested they were in me. I felt pretty good about it even though the job description made me seem a little underqualified. The manager, director, and recruiter were all really sharp and recognized that I didn't have direct RN experience, but they could see how excited I was about the role. They started asking me about my aspirations for taking on leadership positions within the hospital down the line.
