First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Lab Manager
I spoke with a recruiter for an initial call. She discussed next steps with the hiring manager, but I didn't move on to any further rounds. She was a little late for our phone chat, about five minutes, but she did apologize. Other than that, she was totally professional and asked me stuff about the job and the organization.
- What makes you want to work at CHOP?
Manager
I applied to CHOP and heard back from the director about two weeks later to schedule an interview. I interviewed with the director and a potential peer, who would be my colleague. They talked about the role and asked me some questions. I thought it went well, and the director seemed impressed. However, I was uncomfortable being asked about salary requirements by a peer at the end of the interview. I sent a thank you email, but after 30 days of no response, I assumed I wasn't selected.
- What are your salary requirements?
- What is your management style?
Site Manager
The interview process was pretty smooth compared to other hospitals. It started with a phone screen to confirm my qualifications for the role. Then, I had my first interview where I met the leadership team. After that, I was interviewed by a group of staff from different sub-departments in a round table format. This was different, but it let me meet the frontline staff and see if it would be a good fit.
- How would you bring joy to the department?
