I did a phone interview, and then an in-person interview with my future clinical supervisor. It was about 1.5-2 hours long. After that, I was offered an internship.

So it was a few parts. First I did some job shadowing with someone who does a similar job. Then I interviewed with the Director and one of the managers for the program. Finally, I interviewed with the VP who oversees this and other community programs.

Behavioral

The interview process was pretty straightforward. They asked typical questions about my background and experience, and also about my interest in their organization. The interview lasted about an hour. The interviewer was friendly, though seemed a bit disorganized and stressed. What was frustrating is that I never got any follow-up after the interview. While I understand if I wasn't the right fit, they should at least let interviewees know they've decided to go with someone else. It's just polite to send an email or rejection notice.

The direct Supervisor usually interviews candidates and makes a selection. The only unusual part was that I applied in October or November and didn't hear back for an interview until the next August. They really do keep your application on file for a year!
