First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Child Mind Institute.
Research Assistant
The initial screening with the recruiter was a good experience. She provided a lot of details about the job and the institution and was trying to determine if my research and clinical background was a good fit for what they needed. I received an update about a second interview and the next steps fairly quickly.
- What motivated you to apply for this position?
Research Assistant
The interview process started with a call from a headhunter. They were late and seemed not to have looked at my resume at all. They weren't really checking my qualifications, just focused on whether I'd work 4 10-hour days and if the location and salary were acceptable. They couldn't answer most of my questions about the job, and it didn't seem like there were any opportunities for growth, even though I have a lot of experience in this field. They could only offer me a salary at the higher end of the range.
- Would you be okay with working in Harlem?
- Are you fluent in Spanish?
- What made you interested in the Child Mind Institute?
Research Assistant
I got referred by someone I knew, which led to a phone interview. The interviewer was formal and asked a set of questions. I thought it went well and I felt a connection. I was really prepared. Even though they said they'd follow up, they never did and I never got feedback after reaching out multiple times. It felt pretty disrespectful given the time and effort I put into preparing.
