Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Child Mind Institute.
Staff Associate
You'll usually have 2 interviews with different people, then a reference check. The interviews will have standard questions, plus some role play or 'how would you handle' scenarios.
- Can you share your greatest strength and an area where you've been given feedback for improvement?
Staff Associate
I first had a phone screen and then we set up a Skype interview. The Skype interview was about 30 minutes long and included a lot of behavioral questions. Many of them were similar, and as a student, I didn't have a lot of experience to draw from for my answers.
- Can you share an instance where someone's description of you caught you by surprise?
Staff Associate
Had three interview rounds. First two were video calls, and the last one was in person. I got to talk to both the supervisor and the person currently doing the job. It was mainly behavioral questions, checking if I could handle multitasking, time pressure, and rapidly changing situations.
- What skills do you possess that would enable you to excel in this demanding role?
