Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Chicago Marketing.
Marketing
We talked about myself, my interests, and if I wanted to work part-time or full-time. The interviewer was nice and we had similar views. We chatted about our experiences from school, work, and life. He shared stuff he learned as a teacher and sports coach. This was a group session, I think.
- What were your aspirations and learning goals with this company?
Marketing Assistant
This job is sales. No phone interview, invited right away for an in person interview, which is always suspicious. It doesn't seem like a sales position through the job description, but then by the second interview you learn that you'll be wearing khaki pants working to sell AT&T or Direct TV at a costco or sam's club to meet sales goals for an undefined amount of time before you can move up to work in their "marketing office." Would not recommend if you're looking for a real marketing job.
- They don't ask questions about YOU they just try to sell the company to you because clearly there's a lot of turnover.
Marketing Assistant
I went through a three-step hiring process. It started with an email from an HR person, and then we quickly had a phone call to go over the job and where it's located. After chatting a bit, we set up an in-person interview, which happened a few days later at the office. During that meeting, we discussed the job details, pay, clients, what they needed, and the responsibilities, plus the potential for growing in the role. We also talked about my background, skills, and career aspirations. Then, I had a second meeting with several managers to get more info on the training. Finally, I came back for a third interview where they made me an offer, which I happily accepted.
- What is your professional motivation?
