First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Chicago Marketing.
Marketing Coordinator
It was brief but clear. I liked that I knew exactly what the interview was for in the first round, which was different from other marketing companies I've interviewed with. The interviewer was direct, as he said he would be. He asked me a few times to consider things from the employer's perspective when I mentioned negative points from reviews I'd read. He was very knowledgeable about the business and spoke well. I was impressed.
- What are your financial and opportunity-based expectations for satisfaction in this role?
- How would you compare the approach of training a potential manager versus hiring someone directly based on their resume?
Marketing Coordinator
I applied online and got a quick call back for an interview. When I arrived, the office seemed professional, but the interview itself was not. The job I was interviewing for seemed different from what was described. I was told to research the company, but the Hiring Manager hadn't seen my resume. This interview was more about the company than about me. They wanted to put me in sales, which was insulting. It felt like a waste of time.
- Do you own a car?
- Is your commute to this location alright?
- Are you interested in proceeding to a second interview?
Marketing Coordinator
The process was smooth and fast after I applied online. The first interview was 30 minutes long. The second interview was with someone who would be my future Branch Manager and it took place at a Fry's store so I could see the Kiosk in action. This role is all about selling Direct TV and AT&T Mobile, requires working evenings 6 days a week, and offers the chance to start your own branch in 6-8 months. It felt a bit like a pyramid scheme, but if you don't mind being on your feet all day and can persuade people to buy, the commission could be decent for an entry-level job.
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
- What aspects of our advertisement appealed to you?
