First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Chicago Blackhawks.
Accounting Manager
The process itself wasn't bad, pretty straightforward. However, they took a very long time to move things along. What was shocking was that they told my company I was interviewing with them without my consent, and not at a reference/background check point.
- Can you describe any improvements you've implemented?
- Describe a challenging conversation you had with a subordinate.
- Explain your prioritization strategy for these two projects and the reasoning behind it.
HR Coordinator
I applied online and then had a phone interview the following week. During the call, it was surprising that they didn't seem to know about Blackhawk engagement programs. About a week after that, I got an email saying I wasn't selected. Also, there was not much transparency about pay, which I found doesn't really align with the company's stated core values.
- Could you list the HR systems you have experience with?
Marketing Coordinator
First, there was a phone call. Then, a video interview was set up with Brian Dahm and Adam Kempenaar. Adam Kempenaar seemed distracted and was eating lunch during the interview, which felt unprofessional. He spoke a lot about himself, and then we never heard back from them.
- Can you describe a campaign you were involved in and what made it successful?
Video Editor
The hiring manager reached out and we scheduled a Zoom interview. The hiring manager was very friendly and the interview went well. I didn't get the job because they hired someone else, but it was a good experience overall.
- What does working for the Blackhawks mean to you?
