First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Chicago ABA Therapy.
Registered Behavior Technician
They are very selective. You have to be friendly and outgoing. Asking questions is also important. They want to know that you are serious and very interested in working with them.
- What makes you want to join our team?
- Could you share your favorite aspect of ABA?
ABA Therapist
I applied online and heard back for an interview pretty quickly. The first interview was pretty long, like 3 hours. It started with a facility tour and then I chatted with an STPA in a coffee shop. After that, I met with HR and another STPA back at the office, and then finally the owner, Quinn. The initial questions were more formal, but towards the end, it was more about my availability. The second interview was a full day, which included shadowing some therapists and they took me out for lunch.
- Describe a time you observed client behavioral issues and how you would have handled it as the therapist.
- What do you enjoy most about working in ABA?
Board Certified Behavior Analyst
The initial recruiters I spoke with didn't really seem to understand what the BCBA role entailed. They couldn't offer any real information, just kept pointing me to a recorded video. This was a bit worrying because it felt like they didn't know what they were looking for in candidates or what the company values were.
- Could you describe your experience working with early learners?
- What specific assessments are you experienced in using?
ABA Therapist
I initially interviewed for an STPA position, but they suggested I'd be a better fit for an ABA role. They invited me back for a second interview where I essentially shadowed for the day.
- Were you interested in ABA, and why did you lean towards it instead of STPA?
