First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Chevron.
Administrative
It started with a quick 15-minute phone chat with a recruiter, who asked things I'd already put on my application like citizenship, sponsorship needs, and salary expectations. When I tried to get more info about the job, the recruiter didn't know basic stuff, which was weird, especially since they were based in Argentina for a California role. A few days later, I got a written assignment, a STARS questionnaire. Soon after, they set up an onsite panel interview with the hiring manager and some team members. The onsite lasted about 1.5 hours. The people I met were really nice and welcoming. The questions were mainly behavioral and situational, using the STARS format like the written task. The hiring manager said I did great and the recruiter would be in touch soon. It's been over 3 weeks, and despite following up, I've heard nothing back. Chevron really needs to fix their recruiting; the recruiters for these California jobs seem clueless and then ghost candidates. I was actually contacted for another similar role by a different Chevron recruiter, but I declined because of this experience.

Executive Assistant
So this was my very first interview there and wow, the office security is super tight. I ended up waiting outside on the street for 25 minutes because I got there 30 minutes early! The main selection step was a written test. It was worth 30 marks and you only had 30 minutes to complete it. Mostly, it involved analytical questions and math problems at an SSC level. I also had to write an essay on the "Current situation of compliance of the companies in Bangladesh". You really needed to be quick with the math to do well, and importantly, no calculators or cellphones were allowed.

Administrative Assistant
It was pretty straightforward. I was interviewed by the HR Department. I was asked about 7 questions in total. Testing my vocabulary, numerical and critical thinking strengths. Also got asked some questions about myself
