HR Coordinator
I was really excited to interview for the HR Coordinator role because the company's mission and values really spoke to me. But, I was surprised to find out I had to take an assessment to see if I was a good 'fit'. Normally I wouldn't do these assessments since they often don't show if you can actually do the job, but I decided to go for it this time. Unfortunately, I got a rejection email three days later, so I guess I didn't pass. This was the first HR job I've seen that made you take a test, and it left me feeling disappointed. We're people, not robots, and relying so much on tests takes away from real skills, experience, and how well you connect with others. I'm hoping the company will rethink this process and focus more on the candidates as individuals instead of just test results.
- Why would you be a great fit for this position, and can you elaborate on your experiences and how you maintain organization?
- Can you explain your relevant experiences and how you stay organized?
- Describe your organizational methods and explain why you are a good fit for the role.

I applied in October, and the entire hiring process wrapped up in February. While the people I interviewed with were pleasant, the timeline was excessively long, spanning five months. This drawn-out period made the experience tiring and caused my initial interest in the role to wane, to the point where I nearly withdrew my application. Ultimately, I received a standard rejection email after completing three interviews and a timed, short-notice coding assessment over the holidays. This assessment felt unnecessary, especially given the circumstances.

Project Manager
The first step was a phone screening that lasted 30 minutes. The caller was late. It was a very task-oriented interview, not for people with a lot of personality. About 10 questions were asked. After the call, there would be an online personality assessment, followed by 4-5 more interviews and then an assignment to complete.
- Could you describe your management style?
- Can you give an example of a problem with an employee and how you resolved it?
- What is your motivation for seeking a new role?
Analyst
Since there was no in-person interview because of covid, it was all done over zoom. I spoke with my manager and then later with the SVP. They mostly asked me questions about my resume and talked about the role generally.
- Tell me about your resume.
- Did you research the company?
