So the interview process for AE was kinda weird. I decided to stop going through with it even though they passed me. If the interview process is this strange, I can’t imagine working for them. They basically grilled me on irrelevant things like my high school experience and extra curriculars, but barely asked about my previous recent job experience that’s actually related to the role. I also didn’t like the attitude of the person interviewing me either.

The interview process felt dated and had rigid expectations. The first two rounds were deep dives with hiring managers, asking about everything from high school GPA and ACT scores to the reasons for leaving every job I've ever had, even from 10 years ago. There wasn't really a chance to prove myself outside of those metrics, which makes me wonder why I was even asked to interview if they cared so much about sticking to one job for about a year. It feels like unless you've been at the same company since high school and outperformed everyone in every role, they'd rather save you the headache and not get your hopes up. They don't seem to care about your story, your journey, how competent you'll be, or even recommendations and referrals. They're focused on what's on paper and it felt like a waste of time. It sounds like a great opportunity with a high-performing team though, so if you fit that very specific mold, go for it. I even asked the interviewers if there were any gaps or concerns about me succeeding, and they said no, I was great, it was just the fact that I've job-hopped, which is extremely common in sales.

The interview process with Cherry was very organized. The hiring manager was really open and explained the interview process clearly from the beginning. Everyone I met was friendly and enthusiastic about Cherry's mission. Overall, things moved fast, communication was steady, and I felt they genuinely tried to understand me.
