Sales Associate/Photographer
The interview went well, it was a zoom web chat lasting about 30 minutes to discuss the position. The interviewer was very nice and asked me several questions.
- Can you tell me about your experience working for the company?
- Describe how you would handle specific problems if they arose.
- What subjects do you enjoy photographing?
Call Center Manager
Had four interviews that felt friendly, comprehensive, and really dug into things. It started with a phone call, then a virtual meeting, followed by an in-person interview, and wrapped up with another virtual session. I was expecting to hear back about a decision, but I never did.
- Can you tell me about your leadership style?
- What's your experience in customer service?
- Tell me about a specific situation you encountered.
Supervisor/Photographer
The interview started with a recruiter call, which was pretty standard. Then I met with the hiring manager, who seemed really stretched thin managing 12 locations and was in a different division. It was odd because she asked about my professional photography abilities, even though my resume and cover letter clearly showed I'm a photojournalist with a lot of experience. She couldn't seem to connect my background in hospitality and the cruise/photo SF scene, despite my strong ties to it. She kept talking about micromanaging and how people couldn't step up, making her repeat things constantly. It felt like she lacked management experience or training and would always be unsatisfied instead of trusting people to do a good job. Because of this, I decided to leave the process.
- Can you describe your professional photography experience?
Sales Associate Photographer
It was okay but they could have been clearer about the specific location they were hiring for. It was confusing, I'm not even totally sure if they knew, and it ended up impacting my decision about working with them.
- What would you contribute to the Cherry Hills team?
