The process was pretty smooth and quite interesting. Everyone I talked to was super nice and seemed genuine. It sounds like there are some tough challenges, but they seem like the good kind of challenges. They laid out the process really clearly so I always knew what was coming next.

I interviewed with CHEQ for ClickCease. My screening interview and the initial interview with one of the two senior members went very well--conversations flowed and it felt great and they assured me that given my lack of experience in tech, they cared more about how I interact with people. They sent me an assignment, which was labeled for either a past or current candidate and I shook it off initially but thought it was messy on their part. I was totally misled that my next interview with the other senior member would be a conversation as well. It was the complete opposite and with the other senior team member, skipped the opportunity of any questions and had me present my assignment without warning. I was not prepared, startled, and quite frustrated that I was put on the spot so aggressively without being warned. I felt them judging me and internally nit-picking at my choice of words, just based on their body language and tone. It was extremely uncomfortable and I couldn't wait to be over with it. I cannot imagine how often I'd be asked to do tasks so abruptly if I accepted an offer. It took them 2+ weeks to get back to me and it honestly felt very messy and scattered on their part. The recruiter was very pleasant and interpersonal, but being asked to do something on the spot that I did not prepare for left a sour taste for me.

The interview process started with an HR manager interview, which was very pleasant and led to the next stage. Then, I interviewed with the team lead, who was also very nice. The process took a turn with a home assignment that took me two working days to complete. After submitting it, I was informed I wouldn't proceed due to insufficient experience in the company's business field, which was surprising given they let me complete the assignment. They also mentioned I could apply for other roles. I applied for a junior SEO position they re-advertised, but received no response, despite being told I'd be considered. This experience, along with other reviews, suggests a pattern of disrespectful treatment towards candidates.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

My experience interviewing at Cheq was terrible. The first call was fine, but things went south after that. My application was held up for over a month because the team was too 'busy' to talk to me, which made me feel like they didn't care about my time. The hiring manager talked a lot about their great culture, even though they don't have offices in the US. Then, they asked me to do a work sample without telling me how they'd judge it. It felt like they just wanted to make me jump through hoops and judge me unfairly. That whole process felt unorganized and unnecessary.
