Product Manager
The process is ridiculously long: - 1 Interview with HR - 1 Interview with Responsible for the department - 1 (face-2-face) Interview just for Product Strategy - 1 interview just for Product execution - 1 (face-2-face) interview just for Leadership - 1 interview just for Engineering Is just an exaggerate amount of time and interviews. I honestly think this process is exhausting and too much. After weeks on this and not getting a job, is very frustrating.
- How would you approach deploying a driverless taxi service for Tesla in a new country?
- Describe how you would build a product that serves as a transportation app for families.
- What metrics would you use to define and measure success for a platform like AirBnB?
Product Manager
Be careful about checkout's product team. The interview/offer process reflected the toxic culture, low trust, and micromanaging style from the top. If you don't want to waste your time, then don't respond to their recruiters on Linkedin. They found it acceptable and customary to take back offers. My advice to you is that don't quit your job or don't stop interviewing unless you actually get paid by Checkout. Definitely ask them to prepay your salary before you quit your job. The process started off with a standard process. After a few conversations, I was invited to the panel interview with four different panelists. After that, a verbal offer was made to me before Christmas. I was told I need to wait a few days for an approved written offer. A few days later right before new years eve, I was told the CPO felt concerned over the interview feedback of one case interview. They took back the offer and asked for one additional interview to redo that case interview. I was invited to a 6th or 7th interview and given the time I have already invested, I took that interview and they decided to officially take back the offer after that. Clearly they believe this one case interview is more important than all the other interviews so why waste other people's time with 5 previous interviews?
- How would you measure the success of Airbnb?
Product Manager
Overall, I definitely recommend going through this long application process. The process was approx 6 interviews in total, with 4 Core Competencies calls with different Product Directors. Despite the length, the whole process was managed very professionally by the company recruiter, giving constant feedback throughout it and also keeping always informed of the status of the overall process. The 4 Core Competencies interviews did not need any deliverable to be worked at home. It needed, though, some home preparation for them, and conversations where intense and full of product/strategy/metrics/execution/tech partnership questions. The interviewers were serious but always very respectful and made an effort to make the conversations pleasant.

- Tell me about your Strategic Thinking skills.
