Customer Success Manager
I thought the interview process was thorough from the initial phone screen to the final round. My recruiter, Zanner Cramme, took nearly 50 minutes with me on the call which meant a lot. I also felt that the process was challenging, yet welcoming at the same time.
- What makes you the right candidate for this position?
Customer Success Manager
The interview process was very slick and efficient. After being referred by a current employee at Checkout I had a call with HR the next day (1st interview) then was told on the call that I can go through to the second round of interviews which I think happened in the next 2 days, after I was successful for that round I had the 3rd round. I was told I may have to do another one but in this instance I didn't have to. I received feedback after every interview which was helpful and constructive. There was a little delay in hearing back to see if I was successful or not, however it may have felt longer because everything else was so efficient. All in all it is the best interview experience I have had in a long time and it happened very quickly.
- Tell me about the background of your current role.
- How would you handle working in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment?
Customer Success Manager
I applied online for the Customer Success Manager role because I have 8 years of eCom payments background and knew two people at Checkout. They told me they'd talk to HR and the hiring manager about my work history. First, I had a phone call with HR. Then, I had a video call with the hiring manager, but they dismissed my candidacy about 10 minutes in because I didn't have the specific payments background they were looking for. The manager said they wouldn't train me, even though they liked the rest of my background. About a week later, a former colleague had a video interview for the same role, had the same "gap," and the exact same manager said it wasn't a big deal and training would be provided. I'm frustrated by this because I doubt things changed in a week. If there are double standards in the interview process, then there certainly are within the company culture. The process included a recruiter call, phone screen, take-home project, and panel discussion.
- Can you discuss your work history?
- What is your experience with US and International Acquiring payments?
