My scheduled screener got canceled the day before it was supposed to happen, even though I had already put in time researching the company and preparing for it. They ended up deciding to proceed with other candidates who were further along in their application process. Before that, they mistakenly sent me someone else’s interview request email, but they corrected it with a follow-up message. Honestly, I feel like I probably dodged a bullet. This kind of thing doesn't create a good impression or a positive applicant experience.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The company showed a massive lack of respect for my time. I got conflicting information and directions from different team members. There were 6 calls in total, and they gave me a vague assignment that essentially asked for a free outline of their strategy and ideas. It felt like a lot of the people there have pre-existing relationships from a previous company, and having worked with the right people already seems to be a factor in getting hired.

Behavioral Presentation Technical

Chatmeter's product manager interviews are extensive, involving over 5 hours of interviews (phone and in-person) plus 2 hours for presentation preparation. It began with a 30-minute HR phone screen, followed by a 1-hour phone interview with the VP of Product. Then came 3 hours of back-to-back interviews with team members. The process concluded with a 1-hour presentation to the entire executive team. The interviews felt easier than at other companies, with no problem-solving or analytical questions. Interestingly, some interviewers spent a significant portion of their time discussing themselves, which was unexpected but not unwelcome. I also had about 20 minutes with the CEO before my presentation, and he seemed very approachable. The assigned presentation involved developing a high-level business case for a new Chatmeter product or feature, with a strict 2-hour preparation limit. My only hiccup was that the executive team wasn't aware of this time constraint, making my presentation seem unfinished to them. The VP of Product even inquired about my limited prep time afterwards. Overall, it was a fairly standard PM interview experience.

The interview process was super fast, like under a week. It started with a 20-minute screen call with the Business Development Manager. Then, there was a 30-minute panel video interview. Finally, a quick 10-15 minute chat with the VP to go over expectations. I really enjoyed talking to everyone; they seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me, which made the experience awesome.
