Banquet Server
I applied online and got a call a few days later for a quick phone interview. We talked about my past jobs and experience. The person I spoke with was nice but serious. She then asked if I could come in for an interview that day, which I did. The same person interviewed me in person. She was friendly but all business. She asked about what I would bring to the team and why I wanted to be a banquet server. I answered professionally and with a smile. After about fifteen minutes, she said they wanted to move forward. I had two hours to complete a drug test and two days for a background check via email, which included checking my credit. I was worried because my credit score is really low. A few days later, I got a call offering me the job! The HR ladies are friendly, but we'll see about the others.
- Tell me about your best customer service experience and the reasons behind it.
Wine Associate
I applied on the website and they got back to me in about 1-2 weeks. I met someone in person for about 30 minutes. We talked about when I should come back to get my nametag and then within a week I started training. The first week of training was shorter days and then I went to regular hours.
- What are some typical interview questions you might ask?
- How do you think your field of study is relevant to this job?
- Can you tell me about yourself?
Server Bartender
So I got asked about 5 bourbons, 5 vodkas, and how to make an old fashioned and a cosmopolitan. They also told me the hours for bartending at Versailles are 3 to 11 and it opens at 5:00. Then they asked about my favorite cocktail to make at home and if wearing a mask is a problem.
- Can you name five types of bourbon?
- Can you name five types of vodka?
- How would you prepare an Old Fashioned?
