Onboarding Lead
The interview process was pretty straightforward. Started with a recruiter call, then a hiring manager chat. After that, there was an assessment, and the final interview was with the Co-CEO. The only bummer was no email or feedback on why I didn't move forward. I did get through the first two rounds, and they seemed to go really well! But yeah, no emails or any follow-ups, even after I tried reaching out to both interviewers.

Pilot Launch Manager
I had a video call with the team lead. Afterward, I was given an assignment to complete, which took about an hour. Once I submitted it, I was supposed to have a second interview to discuss it. But the day before that second interview, they told me the team wouldn't be in the office for the next week, so it was postponed. Then, the day before the rescheduled interview, they called to say they'd already hired someone. While I appreciated the call instead of being ghosted, it felt odd to wait two weeks with a weak excuse when they were so close to making a decision. I asked for feedback, but I still haven't received it after a month.

Digital Marketing
ChatDesk is asking for free work from candidates applying for jobs. Specifically for marketing roles, they want a new blog post or a twitterstorm related to their business. This practice of asking for free work is abusive. If a candidate's portfolio and resume aren't sufficient for them to judge skills, it points to a lack of decision-making ability or, more likely, an exploitation of desperate candidates for free content or strategies. Experienced digital marketers know these free blogs and strategies can be easily exploited by companies. They might hire freelancers to execute your strategies for very little pay or slightly modify your free blog post for their own use with plausible deniability. Candidates are advised against this. The excuse 'We're not going to use it' doesn't justify soliciting free work. If a blog or Twitter strategy is needed, the company should use platforms like UpWork and pay professionals their hourly rates.
- ChatDesk requests candidates to do unpaid work.
- For marketing positions, candidates are required to produce a new blog post or a Twitter storm pertinent to the company's operations.
- The co-founder openly requests free work from candidates in difficult situations.
Customer Support Expert
Quick application process. Watched a video explaining the job and how things work. Took an assessment with around 30 questions about the video and how to handle example situations. You can't get more than 3 wrong. I got one wrong. Then got confirmation and am waiting for a response. I heard they don't do background checks and it's an easy hire, but not sure how true or how long the wait is. They didn't ask about my work experience or much else. Will update if hired. Applied 1/13/23.
