Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Charlie Health.
Compliance Specialist
A recruiter contacted me on LinkedIn to set up an initial Zoom interview. It went well, and I met all the job requirements and seemed like a good fit. After the interview, I was given an online IQ test (Raven's Assessment) that didn't seem related to the job. I completed it, but they didn't share the results. Instead, I got a standard email saying they were moving forward with other candidates. It makes you think about how many good candidates might be missed because of outdated or irrelevant interview methods.
- Are you familiar with TJC Behavioral Health and HIPAA Standards?
Compliance Manager
I went through a 2-month interview process. First, a recruiter call to go over my background and the role. Then, a Raven's IQ test. After that, I had a behavioral interview with the hiring manager, followed by another behavioral interview with a peer. The next step was a 10-hour unpaid project, which I then presented to a panel of 4 employees. Finally, I had an executive interview. It was a long process, and the project wasn't typical for this kind of job, but it wasn't hard, just time-consuming. Everyone was professional, attentive, and engaging. What really soured me on this company was the 3-week delay after my last interview. The hiring manager said he was sure he could get me an offer, then later said he was excited to have me join, and then said he'd have news soon. No word came on Friday, and then I got a rejection email that seemed like a template. I asked for feedback, but got nothing back. It was really unprofessional and inconsiderate, especially for a mental health company. It seems the negative employee reviews are accurate.
- Can you talk about your experience and answer some behavioral questions about the role?
- Tell me about your background and respond to behavioral questions relevant to this position.
Compliance Manager
I had two interviews that were pretty short. The second one was supposed to have another person join, but they got held up. I'm not totally sure they're focused on the most crucial aspects of a candidate, but they're definitely doing their homework to find the right person.
