First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Charles IT.
IT Intern
The job description didn't really align with the questions they asked. It felt like they were looking for someone to handle minor office tasks, despite advertising an IT intern position. The work atmosphere itself seemed pleasant, though.
- How would you manage coffee distribution?
- What's your approach to sorting boxes?
Project Manager
My interview with Charles IT was way longer and more confusing than I thought it would be. It went on for about 2-3 months, and I got moved around to different roles without anyone really explaining why or what was going on. Even though I was upfront about my background and what I wanted, I never really got a say in what I was being considered for. They didn't communicate well, and sometimes it felt like they were just reacting instead of having a plan for hiring. The company culture itself is super high-energy and takes over everything, which might be cool for some people, but maybe not for those wanting a more balanced and stable career. They really push for engagement, and it seems like doing well there depends more on fitting their philosophy than on having experience. They do have some good perks, but it's worth thinking about if the whole environment helps you grow long-term. Also, it's weird that you don't really get much balanced, honest feedback about the interview process, which makes you wonder how they handle different opinions. If you're thinking about a job here, I'd definitely do your own digging outside of what they tell you to get the full picture. Looking at reviews on Reddit and Indeed might give you a better idea too, as people seem to say similar things.
- Can you share some information about yourself, your career aspirations, and your professional background?
Desktop Support Specialist
First, a recruiter called me to chat. If they liked me, I then went to their office for a second interview in person. So, two interviews total.
- What motivated you to pursue a career in IT?
Finance Intern
A recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn about my qualifications. I completed the interview, and it went great. Two days later, the interviewer emailed saying my qualifications didn't quite fit the role, but it was a good interview, and I should apply for other jobs at the company. I'm not mad though, it's a cold-calling firm and I would have turned down an offer anyway. The pay is also terrible.
- Can you describe a situation where a lead is considered dead?
