Software Engineer
Had a great interview with the recruiter there who seems to really be invested in my candidacy. They tried to fast-track the scheduling of my interview with the hiring manager because they knew there were candidates already in the latter stages of the interviewing process. Unfortunately, my interview with the hiring manager was cancelled as a candidate had accepted an offer for the role. Can't speak much for the rest of the staff but the recruiter was amazing and actually knew her stuff about tech tools.

Lifecycle Marketing Manager
I was super excited about this role, as I had in the past created my own petition for change. I spoke with the recruiter, where I thought the conversation went very well. The recruiter told me that both she and the hiring manager saw my profile and wanted to reach out to me, but I had submitted my application before they could reach out. I finished my phone interview with the recruiter with high hopes. Not too long after, I was scheduled to speak with the hiring manager on July 17th, and I thought it went well. With my background in lifecycle marketing and the fact that I had hands-on experience with creating a petition through Change(dot)org, I felt that I would be the ideal candidate. Shortly after, I get the rejection email. I asked for feedback, but all I got was silence. Today, August 28th, I see that job has once again (so third time) been reposted. Either this job is a ghost job or Change(dot)org is looking for the absolute perfect candidate, which we all know does not exist. Let's do better, Change(dot)org! Perhaps my next petition on Change(dot)org should be for them to change their hiring process and to stop looking for the perfect candidate.

Campaign Coordinator
So I started with a call with HR, who was super nice and told me about the company. Then I got this writing test with a 2-hour limit. After that, I had two more interviews, one with one person, then another with two people. I finished with a quick follow-up interview. About a week later, I got a congrats email and an offer! We scheduled a time to go over it, but then, like an hour before, I got an email saying the offer was off. It was wild because I was on vacation and had already decided to come back early for this job. I'd even turned down other offers and interviews. I was at a goodbye dinner and just started crying. It felt really unprofessional to pull the rug out like that, especially after extending the offer. I had a quick Zoom with a manager who apologized and said she fought for me, but someone higher up decided I was too journalistic and they wanted more PR experience, which was weird because they'd said my news and media skills were a great fit all along. It's been months, and I'm still job hunting. Everyone I spoke to during the interviews was lovely, and the process itself felt smooth and thorough. The company does great work, and I was excited about it. But yeah, it seems there might be some disorganization or miscommunication at the top.

Technical Recruiter
I had a great interview experience with Change.org. The lead recruiter, Yanny, was great about keeping me informed of the process, next steps, and timing. Everything was very clear and I knew exactly what to expect each step of the way. They list the interview process and compensation in the job descriptions as well, which is very handy. It really felt like everything was set up to help me put my best foot forward. It wasn't confrontational the way some interview processes are, it was more conversational and I had ample opportunity to display my skills and experience. I also really appreciate that they were very understanding when I had to reschedule last minute and of the fact that I had to interview with a baby on me due to childcare conflicts.
