First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Chalmers University of Technology.
Postdoctoral Researcher
I found the position on the website and applied. Then I was contacted for a Skype interview, which lasted about an hour. We talked about my background and why I'd want to move to Sweden. About two or three weeks after that, they invited me for an in-person interview. I had to travel there and give a presentation on a scientific topic relevant to the position.
- What motivates you to seek this particular role?
Postdoctoral Researcher
A week before the Skype interview, recruiters sent over a recent article from their group and asked me to study it. I had to summarize the most important aspects and submit it a day before the interview. The Skype interview itself was over 30 minutes long and felt very friendly. I was able to answer everything spontaneously.
- What is your reason for applying to this postdoc position, and what specific expertise do you bring to the group?
- What drives your motivation for pursuing research?
- What are your future career aspirations?
Postdoctoral Researcher
It was a two-step interview. The first interview focused on the technical aspects of the project with many detailed questions. The second round was more general, mostly about personal skills and qualifications related to the work.
- Can you explain the difference between attributional and consequential LCA, and which method do you prefer for LCA, midpoint or endpoint, and why?
