First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CFS.
Staffing Manager
So first there was this call from the corporate recruiter, they had my resume and it was pretty much a pre-screen that lasted about 15 minutes. They thought I might be a good fit, so we set up another interview for the next day. That one was around 45 minutes and they really dug into my experience. They decided to move me forward. Then I chatted with the local manager for about 45 minutes, and that went well, so I advanced to the in-person interview. It was quite long, which I saw as a good sign. They asked a lot about my background and what my typical day and after-hours work involves.
- How do you handle employees with attendance problems?
- Do you have to do daily or weekly reports in your current job?
- How do you feel about working according to a script?
Executive Recruiter
Had a typical interview with a corporate recruiter. They asked about my experience and why I wanted to work there. What struck me as odd was the recruiter seemed pretty uninterested throughout the conversation. It seems they are looking for pretty entry-level recruiters they can train, which is fine, many staffing agencies do this, but it would be respectful to tell the interviewee that upfront so no time is wasted. The base salary is also pretty low compared to other entry-level recruiting jobs out there. I followed up after getting the rejection email to ask for feedback, but got no response.
- Can you describe your experience?
- What makes you interested in this role?
Executive Recruiter
Had a phone chat with the Internal Recruiter first, then went in person to meet the Branch Manager and a teammate. After that, I had a phone call with the Regional Manager. The whole thing wrapped up in under two weeks. Honestly, the chats were pretty relaxed. They were mostly trying to get a feel for me, my interest in recruiting, why I was looking at CFS specifically, and how my background lined up with what the job entails.
- What draws you to the field of recruiting?
- What makes you want to work for CFS?
- How does your experience match the requirements of this role?
