Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cerebras (CA).
Software Engineer
Four 1-hour rounds. Each round is split evenly between discussing your resume/knowledge and a coding exercise. The coding portion covers both data structures/algorithms and ML/OS topics. The whole process took about two months from the initial interview to the offer.
- Can you explain why std::unordered_map is often not the optimal choice for hash maps in many situations, and how TBB or ABSL's unordered hash maps offer advantages, specifying the ways and the conditions under which they are superior?
Cloud Software Engineer
I had two interviews back-to-back on consecutive days. Each interview had basic behavioral questions and one coding problem. Preparing with common LeetCode questions should be enough. The whole thing was pretty easy and nice.
- Can you solve Leetcode 636. Exclusive Time of Functions?
Software Developer
We had a chat about my previous experience. I talked through what I did, but he didn't seem very interested. It was hard to communicate because I couldn't understand him clearly during the whole process.
- Can you describe how you would code a minesweeper game incorporating a Gaussian distribution?
