Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cepheid.
Environmental Scientist
It was a pretty straightforward interview process. They asked some basic and behavioral questions, and the technical questions weren't too tough. The whole thing took about half a day. We had lunch with the team, which was really nice. The lab area is massive. Everyone there seemed incredibly busy.
- What are your plans for the next five years?
Senior Scientist
I went through 6 interviews for this Senior Scientist role, which were a mix of online and on-site. The panel I met with was quite friendly and asked questions that were very relevant to the job. I encountered both behavioral and technical interview questions.
- What's your reason for wanting to leave your current job?
Scientist II
This was the worst phone screen interview experience ever with a really bad talent advisor/recruiter from the company. The person seemed overtly racist and didn't even know basic research terms to get started. I don't get how someone with such little knowledge of basic research terms and who hasn't even heard of any scientific technique can be a pharma recruiter. She kept implying that my pronunciation wasn't American and that she couldn't understand even the simplest words I said.
- Could you tell me a bit about yourself?
