The interview process was really smooth and easy. I got great communication from both the hiring manager and HR, which I appreciated. They handled everything well, but they were slow to respond after the final stage, leaving me in limbo for a while about whether I got the job.

The interview process was amazing. I met with two managers who were very friendly and knowledgeable about the company. They made me feel comfortable and the interview didn't feel stressful at all.

I interviewed with HR, and it seemed to go well. I'm local and have strong credentials, including an advanced degree. The HR interview was pretty standard, lasting about 30 minutes, and we mostly discussed my background and experience. As we finished, the HR person mentioned I was moving to the next round but then added a weird comment: 'if the hiring director wants to interview you, they will let you know.' I've never experienced an interview where HR moves me forward but I'm still uncertain if the hiring manager will even want to talk to me. Shouldn't HR be the one to screen candidates and then the applicant proceeds to a more formal interview? Three weeks later, I got an email saying I wasn't being considered anymore. From my point of view, this was a total waste of my time. For a Director-level role, HR should have a better understanding of what the hiring manager is looking for and just sent me a rejection email, rather than wasting my time with the HR interview and then, after saying I was progressing, not even having me interview with the hiring manager.

The recruiter told me I didn't really fit their mold even though I had all the experience and credentials. They said it would be a toss-up if I got the job. I should have left then, but I went through with the interview. The interviewer made references to my experience and the opportunities I'd get by leaving my current job. Against my gut feeling, I took the job. But they don't seem to remember that conversation later. Get everything in writing so you don't get taken advantage of like I did.
