I had a really informative interview with Centurion Selection. The internal recruiter was great and gave me tons of info about the company and the role. I also got all the details via email, so I didn't have to do much digging.

So first, I talked to HR. They wanted to see, like, my background and experience, and just if I'd be a good fit for Centurion. We chatted about my past jobs, what I'd accomplished in IT security, and why I wanna work here. They also asked if I knew about the company's values and what this role is all about.

So, I got reached out to from Indeed for a Recruitment Consultant role in Boston. The first interview was about 30 minutes. Then the head of the Boston location called me. He asked about my living situation, my commute, and why I applied. He was really clear that even though the contract says 8:30-5:30, they expect you there by 8 and to leave at 6, meaning you're working 50-60 hours a week. He said the base pay is $50,000 until a promotion, which could be 6 months to a year. He pointed out that's about $19/hour for 50 hours or $16/hour for 60 hours. But, he said if you stick with it, you can make $100,000 a year, which is the base pay plus commission. The base pay doesn't go up until the promotion to full recruiter. He basically said if you're okay with that risk, it might be the job for you. It felt like a lot for someone with a college degree.

The interview was pretty boring. I wasn't given much opportunity to speak. The job itself sounds really uninteresting. The focus seems to be on the recruiter you'd be supporting. They also didn't ask many questions, which makes me think they're just trying to fill a vacancy.
