First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Centric Brands.
Intern
I had two calls with HR about Centric and my teamwork abilities. They didn't have the specific role I was looking for, so I ended up interviewing for a different position, and they were really flexible about it. The whole thing felt pretty chill, but getting updates was a bit slow -- I had to reach out after the interviews to follow up.
- Tell me about your collaborative skills.
- What challenges have you faced in collaborative efforts, and how did you tackle them?
Internal Communications Manager
So the interview process was pretty standard. I first chatted with a recruiter because they were using an external agency, then I spoke with the hiring manager, who's the VP of Internal Comms, and also HR, the SVP of Talent & Culture. After those calls, they sent over a writing assignment, which was a pretty fair request compared to some others I've had that were way more involved. Finally, I went into the office for the last set of interviews.
- Can you share your experience planning company-wide all-hands meetings?
Designer
The interview process was quick, and they usually got back to me after I followed up. I completed my design project and emailed them about my application status; they said they'd reply. After ten days without a response, I emailed again, but still no word. It's confusing because they used to respond, and I'm worried since this is my top company choice. I really want this job. UPDATE: I was rejected via phone call. They explained that their budget increased, so they needed someone more experienced (which I get, but they should've responded sooner). I was just annoyed that I was led on for three months, did the design project, only to be rejected. I'm so bummed and frustrated.
- Can you tell me a little about yourself?
- What makes you want to work for Centric Brands?
- What are you looking to make in terms of salary?
Graphics Designer
I was contacted on a Saturday and told to get in touch with the recruiter and be available for an interview on Monday. I did that and confirmed my details. The recruiter then sent me some questions to answer with a 90-minute deadline. It was 7:30 am my time and I felt pressured to drop everything for this interview process. It felt like a toxic workplace vibe even before an interview.
- Are you currently working?
- Can you explain what "Privacy and code of conduct" means to you?
- Describe your process for collaborating with copywriters, developers, and project managers.
