First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Center Parcs UK & Ireland.
People Assistant
I had a phone screening on Monday and then a face-to-face interview on Friday. The candidate experience could have been better. They told me to arrive 20 mins early but that wasn't accurate because after parking, there's a 10 min walk and then check-in took another 10 mins. To make it better, they should give better advice about parking, walking time, and busy check-in times. This can affect how you do in the interview so it's best to arrive early. They also mentioned an induction if I got the job, which is pretty standard.
- What values would you contribute to the company?
- Can you discuss your experience working in a team?
Housekeeping
We began with a presentation about the place and job benefits, followed by a two-person interview where we were asked to strip and make a bed. The interviewers were friendly and the setting was pretty relaxed, with all the questions being read from a paper.
- Can you tell me about yourself and your hobbies?
- Do you have previous housekeeping experience?
- How would you handle various scenarios?
BI and Insights Analyst
It was like, first a teams call with 2 people, then another meeting with 2 people from head office. I had to present a take home task there. They asked these really complicated multi-part questions. The take home task itself had specific, isolated questions, but I think they were looking for a broader analysis. The feedback was honestly strange, especially compared to what they said during the interview. Felt like mixed signals. I also got a vibe that diversity might be a concern at the head office.
- Tell me about a professional achievement you are proud of.
- What is a personal accomplishment you are proud of?
Outdoor Activity Instructor
The interview involved candidates hosting a pre-planned game, which included getting the equipment ready, explaining the rules, and running the session. After that, there was a formal Q&A later in the day. The whole thing lasted about 3 hours, considering the time for the other 7 candidates to do their games too.
- What would you do if a guest had difficulty grasping the health and safety guidelines during a session?
- How would you approach communicating with a younger guest if there was a language difference?
- Can you tell me what you know about Center Parcs and why you are interested in this position?
