The hiring journey kicked off with a screening call with the person currently in the role, basically checking how my background fit the job ad. Then, I had to do a pretty straightforward Excel task involving data visualization and a brief writing assignment. The next step was an in-person meeting with the two supervisors, which was pretty short, about 30 minutes. They started by asking standard resume questions, then moved on to some situational queries about managing superiors and communication approaches. The interview wrapped up with a really specific question about one of their projects and my thoughts on it, which got a bit awkward and political. Overall, it was a standard interview, though that last question was a bit unusual.

The entire hiring process spanned approximately 3 to 4 months. It started with an online application submission, with no initial reference checks. A couple of weeks later, I received a writing assignment, which was fairly standard and took a few hours to complete. After another two weeks without hearing back, I followed up. A few days after that, I was invited for an interview with two staff members. The interview itself was pretty typical, with no surprising questions, and I really liked the interviewers. Another couple of weeks passed without updates, so I reached out again. In their response, I was informed that I wouldn't advance to the final round but was considered a top candidate. Apart from the extended waiting periods for updates, I found the process to be typical, and the staff were very pleasant.
