First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Center for Elders Independence.
Referral Coordinator
After submitting my application, HR set up the first interview. Then there was another one. It took a few interviews to meet people from different departments. The questions they asked were all over the place, some were straightforward and others were hard to follow, depending on who was asking.
- How would you handle a situation like xyz?
Database Administrator Analyst
It was a bit of a mess. I gave my availability for a call, but they never confirmed a time. They eventually called during one of the slots I suggested. They said I passed the first part and would let me know about the second interview. They did email asking for my availability again, but then they never called.
- Can you describe your relevant experience?
- How do you handle working under pressure?
Patient Care Navigator
It was a pretty easy interview process. Started with a call from superego to set up the interview. The questions they asked were pretty direct. I interviewed with the supervisor, the lead patient navigator, and the HR manager. They wanted to know about my past work experience, how I handle organization, and my problem-solving abilities. They let me know their decision about a week later.
- Can you tell me about your organizational skills?
- What is your experience in previous jobs?
- How do you describe your organizational skills?
Outreach Representative
I applied online and then I hand-delivered my application to their office. After that, I had a phone screening interview. Then, I was invited in for a panel interview and I had to do a presentation. They asked me to prepare a PowerPoint presentation to demonstrate my skills in presenting information about their organization to the public. The people who work there are serious about their social mission of providing care to the Senior community.
- How would you tactfully inquire about a low-income senior's eating habits, given that you observed their refrigerator was empty during a role-playing scenario?
