First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Center for Disability Services.
Program Manager
I spoke with two program directors over Zoom. We went over the role and they asked me about my background and some situational questions. Afterwards, one of the directors sent me some other job descriptions that she thought would be a good fit. She then called me to talk about which job I liked best and gave me a verbal offer.
- What do you consider a good leader to be like, and what leadership qualities do you contribute to a team?
- Can you share your personal values?
- What are your thoughts on individuals with disabilities?
Database Report Specialist
So, first I heard from HR and we had a quick chat on the phone. After that, the hiring manager from the IT Department reached out, and I did another phone interview with her and someone else from IT.
- What have you been up to since 2018?
- Have you been searching for employment?
Residential Counselor
Got to the main building. The interview space was a single room with about 8 current employees. They had you fill out some paperwork first, then one of the employees would call you up to talk. The interview itself took about 15 minutes.
- What are your thoughts on the suggested placement location?
Resident Counselor
The interview process was laid back and straightforward, with no surprises. It wasn't overly difficult and really depended on the manager you interviewed with. I was interviewing for a management position, and it was very direct. They told me about the staff and the individuals, and I met the individuals to observe their real needs and care.
