First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Center City PCS.
Instructional Assistant
The interview was easy and super simple. The person I spoke with really wanted to learn more about me as a person and a professional. It was a 30-minute chat with the Principal and Assistant Principal.
- What strength do you believe you could bring to our team?
After School Care
The interview took about 20-30 minutes. They asked me if I had any experience with childcare and if I had interacted with parents before. They also asked questions about my school experience and about me as a person.
- Can you share an instance where you encountered a situation and how you resolved it?
Teacher
Got an email for an interview with the principal and admin team. They wanted me to prepare a lesson for any grade, even though I applied for a specific one. I was led to a classroom and had to teach a lesson to students I'd never met and knew nothing about. After 30 mins, the admin gave me my score and feedback and asked me questions about managing a classroom, my work experience, etc. I thought it was inappropriate to teach in front of students without them knowing who I was, especially since I was only there for 30 mins. It's disruptive to a child's day, and I can imagine how many students' learning was disrupted by other applicants.
- How would you approach a student who lacks motivation to learn, and what strategies would you implement for them?
- How do you integrate principles of equity into your lesson planning?
- What is the importance of family engagement in ensuring student success?
Before and Aftercare Specialist
The people were very professional.
- What would your previous supervisor or co-worker say about you?
