It started with a zoom interview with HR, then an in person interview with the lead engineers, and finally an interview with management. Even though the next stage was planned after a successful zoom interview, they stopped responding to me. Communication wasn't great.

I sent in my application online, and then I had a first interview with the company. The time they set was a bit strange, 5PM on a Friday. I thought it went well, and the questions seemed pretty standard. A week passed, and since I hadn't heard back, I tried contacting the HR generalist, but got no reply. I tried again a week after that, and finally got a response saying the position was no longer available. Then, about a month later, the HR generalist got in touch again, asking if I was still interested in the role and if I was available to interview. But, I didn't get any details about a scheduled time or date. I followed up asking for an update, and again, no response. The whole Cemex interview process was really frustrating because of how poor the communication and professionalism were. It would have been better if they had just responded instead of leaving me hanging.

I submitted my resume to a recruiter at a college career fair after a good chat about the internship. She called me back within two weeks and set up a phone interview. This preliminary call was with her, going over my resume and more details about the internship to see if I was still interested. Then, we scheduled another phone interview, this time with the manager who would be supervising the internship. This interview focused on gauging my interest and assessing if I had the right attitude for plant life. After that went well, they invited me for a final interview and a tour of the plant and quarry before making a decision. On the interview day, they gave me a thorough tour, explaining the basic processes before the actual interview. Finally, I met with three employees: the head of maintenance, the head of plant operations, and the plant manager. They asked about my past experience, future aspirations, and if I saw Cemex fitting into those plans. I was offered the job during this interview.

Got a call from HR the week before Thanksgiving for an hour-long phone chat, which was pretty casual and a good way for us both to learn about each other. About two weeks after that, they reached out to set up a phone chat with the hiring manager on December 1st. We talked for about an hour, and he mostly did the talking, but it was a good conversation where he really laid out the role and what they were looking for. Another week and a half went by, and they contacted me to arrange an onsite interview, which was set for January 5th, about 3.5 weeks out. The onsite took several hours and involved meeting with the hiring manager, his boss, a coworker, and HR. The questions were pretty much job-focused, and they also gave us a rundown of the company's values and philosophy. We also had lunch together at a restaurant and took a quick look around the area. Everyone was really friendly, and the interviews felt well-organized. I got a call about 2.5 weeks later.
