First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Celtic Bank.
SBA Underwriter
Had an easy first interview with HR. Make sure you have your previous employment dates ready. The first interview is with HR. The people there seemed nice. Celtic Bank is a recognized and respected name in the SBA industry, so it would be an honor to work there.
- Can you provide the precise start and end dates for your past jobs?
- What were the exact start and end dates for certain positions in your career?
BSA/AML Analyst
I had an initial call with HR, then a couple days later I had a second interview with two people from the BSA/AML team. After that, I had a third and final interview with the VP/manager of the BSA/AML department. He told me I would hear back the next week about the position, and they let me know as promised. All the interviews were done virtually.

- What are your long-term plans with the company?
- Tell me about yourself.
Operations Servicing Specialist
The interviewing process here was interesting to say the least. They did a phone screen and I felt there was good chemistry, but as soon as I showed up to interview with the hiring manager and department VP; things really went downhill. The manager wasn’t even present during the interview, and he basically stared out the window at the traffic until it got to his point to ask only 2 questions. The VP over the department was the most old fashion dude I’ve ever met, and made multiple shovanistic comments during the interview, and when I asked about the office culture he responded with basically a list of all the races of the people that work there... not what I was asking dude... Cut all contact with them afterwards. This was a scary process.
- Can you share an instance where you acted dishonestly at work?
QA Engineer
I had a call with the Talent Acquisition Manager for the QA Engineer role, but there were technical issues that made it hard to talk clearly. We tried to reconnect a few times, but the problems kept happening. I'm glad for the chance to interview, but I think fixing the call setup with better internet or audio, or using a different way to talk, would make the experience better for candidates. I hope they take this feedback for future interviews.
- Could you explain what constitutes a Communication Difference?
