& Process

A recruiter I didn't know personally called me to ask about my qualifications, like my past jobs, current job, and schooling. They told me about the summer lead teacher role and scheduled an interview with the school director. The director asked about my skills and how they'd help with the job. She also asked if I've been a mentor or mentee and to share those experiences. I had to rate myself on the company's 4 E's (energy, edge, execute, and I can't remember the last one) with examples. Since I'm a teacher during the school year, this interview wasn't too tough, as many of my answers tied back to my career.

Applied online and was called in for an interview. I met with the director, and it was a typical interview for a child care position. They asked me a set of standard questions for all applicants, like 'experience with difficult parents' and 'your view of a perfect classroom'. The interview was about 30 minutes long. If they liked me, they then asked me to do a working interview. After that, we met again and I was offered the job... all of this happened within 3 days.

I applied and the HR Director called me back the same day. I then interviewed with the Assistant Director and the Director. The Assistant Director asked a lot of questions, but because I have a BS in Education and experience in public schools, the Director hired me right away, without asking many questions. I did a working interview in a classroom for about an hour and got the offer. It took several weeks to get my passwords and time clock codes sorted out. I ended up working for two weeks without getting paid (HR didn't know).

You first have a virtual chat with a recruiter. After that, you set up an in-person meeting, which includes a tour of the school and a quick rundown of what to expect. Then, you'll have a sit-down chat to talk about yourself and such. They get back to you pretty fast. HR will then give you a call to check if you're still interested and will send over the offer letter.
