Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cedar.
Product Manager
This was a pretty disorganized interview. The interviewer seemed unsure about what they were looking for and didn't have a solid set of questions ready. When I asked for more details about the product and its vision, their answers were super long-winded and they couldn't get to the point. The interview was supposed to be 30 minutes but went over by 20 minutes because I had a hard stop. They only asked me two questions, and neither related to my past experiences or asked hypothetical situational questions to gauge my skills. They also didn't give any feedback, citing 'legal reasons.' I'm still not sure what they were trying to assess or what I could have even been assessed on.
- Can you tell me why you are interested in Cedar?
- What are you passionate about that isn't work-related?
Product Manager
The interview experience with Cedar was fantastic. The process felt fair, thoughtful, and really focused on the candidate. The recruiter was super transparent and supportive, which made a big difference throughout the interview cycle. Plus, all the Cedar employees I spoke with were on time and prepared – a great sign of the culture. It left a really positive impression, so much so that I'm now a full-time employee a few months in!
- Can you diagnose why people might be dropping off during the checkout process?
- Regarding the checkout funnel dropoff, is this a significant issue for Cedar?
Product Manager
Started with some chats with the product team, one of the engineering leads, and the head of business development. Then I had to do a homework assignment. Finally, I had more conversations with the CEO, someone else from BD, an engineer, and we went over the homework assignment.
- What's your approach to designing a patient intake solution?
