First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cedar Park Regional Medical Center.
Physician Assistant
They were really nice and flexible. It felt like they were paying attention to my answers and were interested in my background in healthcare. They asked good questions and followed up on what I said.
- Describe your approach to managing a challenging patient.
Family Nurse Practitioner
It took a while to schedule the interview, and even though they said I'd have an offer in 3 days, there was no follow-up. The interview itself went really well, and they told me to expect an offer letter the following week. However, it's been over 3 weeks with no contact, even after I sent 3 emails. I'm not happy with how unprofessional and unclear they've been.
- Were you interested in working in urgent care or primary care?
Laboratory Supervisor
What really stood out to me was the peer interviewing process, which I haven't seen before but I guess is becoming more common. First, I met with the administrative lab director and the medical lab director. They asked me general questions about my background and how I'd deal with potential situations. Then, two lab technologists interviewed me. They wanted to get to know me and how I've handled past scenarios. This was also my chance to ask them about the facility and the department. Finally, I spoke with the HR director and a nurse department manager, who also asked questions about me and how I handle things.
- How would you handle a common situation involving communication between the lab and nursing?
- Describe how you would manage a specific scenario that arises from communication issues between the laboratory and nursing departments.
Human Resources Generalist
The interview process involved a few stages. First, I had a phone screen with the HR recruiter. Then, I interviewed with my manager, followed by a peer interview. The final round was an interview with the executives. The whole thing was pretty easy, and they were flexible with my schedule.
- Tell me about a mistake you made and how you fixed it.
- Describe a challenging coworker and your strategies for managing that relationship.
- What are you most proud of accomplishing in your current role?
