First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cedar Hills Hospital (OR).
MHA
The process was smooth and very straightforward. They were transparent about job expectations and benefits. They highlighted the organization's values, which was good to hear. I ultimately declined the offer for a position with higher pay, but it seems like a good opportunity to enter the field.
- Would I be comfortable with direct patient care?
Registered Nurse
The interview process was pretty straight forward. I had a sit down and they asked typical structured interview questions. They were nice and asked about my work experience and how I've handled situations. They also asked some typical patient care questions. The interviewers were nice and respectful.
- Can you describe a situation where you dealt with an aggressive patient?
Staff Nurse
I applied online and got an email the next day to schedule an interview. The DON and ADON interviewed me a few days later. They offered me the job right after the interview with the ADON and said HR would take about a week to set up my offer letter and background check. But, two full weeks went by with no word, even after I followed up twice. I countered their offer with a $1 raise right after the interview.
- Can you tell me about your leadership style?
- What type of leadership do you prefer?
- Tell me about a difficult situation you faced and how you resolved it.
Mental Health Technician
First, I had to take a preliminary assessment test with questions like 'what would you do if a patient did...'. If I passed that, HR passed my info to the hiring manager for the department I applied for. They called me in later that week and I got the job offer the next day. Then they told me about the pre-employment background check and I had to go for a urinalysis. It took a whole month from when I applied to when I started orientation.
- Can you describe a situation where you dealt with an upset patient and explain your approach?
