First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cedar Gate Technologies.
Data Engineer
First round was technical, focusing on your technical knowledge, how you solve problems, your coding skills, and your understanding of tools and tech relevant to the job with practical questions or technical discussions. Second round was with management to check your communication, teamwork, decision-making, and if you're a good cultural fit. Managers will look at your attitude, work ethic, career goals, and how you handle responsibility, challenges, and collaboration in the company.
- Advanced SQL questions requiring you to write code during the technical round.
GRC Director
The recruiter was great, and the hiring manager was great too. The second round interview team was unprofessional though, everyone was off cam, and one person was late. One interviewer was literally searching on google to ask me a question like, 'I just checked my AI and it says the following...'. The AI wasn't even accurate, and the person asking didn't seem to know what they were looking for. The interview team was distracted and I had to repeat my responses constantly.
- What would be your response to a product vulnerability?
Vendor Relations Manager
Applied and heard back about a week later. Scheduled the interview for about a week after that. The first interview was with an HR rep. He was late and took a while to find my resume. My camera was off, his wasn't. We discussed my resume and experience. He explained why I'd be a good fit, but then said they didn't really need anyone experienced. The meeting seemed okay, and he said he'd let me know about meeting the hiring manager the following week. I followed up weekly with no reply. Three weeks later, I got an email about benefits for a different job. I emailed back to ask about it, still no response. A week after that, I got an automated email saying they were going with someone else because they didn't want to match the salary range posted. They wanted someone cheap instead of qualified, which was a shame. The whole process was disorganized, but maybe it's for the best.
- What are the top 3 things you are seeking in a company?
Project Manager
The first step was a recruiter call where they asked some basic questions. After that, I met with the hiring manager to talk about my background and specific skills and experience related to current projects. The last round was a panel interview with managers from related departments.
- Can you tell me about your past project management experience?
- How do you feel about managing several projects at the same time?
- What's your take on the level of detail needed for status reports and project plans?
