First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CDI Engineering Solutions, LLC.
Repair Technician
The interview process was straightforward. I was shown various computer components and had to identify specific parts like RAM, CPU, and GPU. It was pretty basic. They also inquired about my technical background and my hobbies outside of work. Additionally, I was asked to examine an old power supply.
- Can you explain what a CPU is?
- What is RAM?
Mechanical Engineer Intern
The interview process was straightforward. The hiring manager was friendly and approachable. They were open to answering any probing questions regarding the potential for transitioning to a full-time position after the internship period.
- Can you share an instance where a project didn't go as planned and describe your approach to resolving the problem?
Technical Writer
CDI corporation submitted me to a very large Mountain View software company that has an office in Kirkland, WA, without my permission. I wasn't happy about being submitted without my permission, but I went along with it because I was interested in getting the job with the client. I had a phone screen with the client hiring manager. After about 3 weeks, I heard from the CDI recruiter that I would be receiving a job offer. Weeks passed and I had to ask the CDI recruiter twice about the status. I finally learned that the contract was put on hold. In the end, I was displeased about being submitted by CDI without my permission and the poor level of communication I received with them.
- Can you tell me about your technical background and work history?
New Business Associate
Applied for the NBA role via LinkedIn and got contacted by the recruiter. She was super helpful initially, reaching out via call/email to prep me for the first video interview. Surprisingly, a few days after that interview, the interviewer called me with a verbal offer, asking me to start within a week. So I had to give my one-week notice at my current job. I then updated the recruiter. A few days later, she called saying I'd have another video conference with someone new who supposedly just wanted to 'meet me' - but it was actually another interview I wasn't ready for and it was a disaster. Then, days passed with no word from the initial interviewer or the recruiter, despite me constantly trying to reach her. On my last day at my old job, I called the first guy, and he told me they rescinded the offer. Apparently, the recruiter was supposed to tell me, but she ghosted me instead. Honestly, the initial interviewer should've said something, and the recruiter should've done her job. Their whole process is a mess and can mess up people's lives. We all need to work to live. Big thumbs down to CDI Corp. and the team.
