First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CD Baby.
Analyst
Face to face interview with managers taking turns asking questions. It was straightforward with common sense questions about routines and how you handle pressure and deal with difficulties.
- Describe a past conflict with a coworker and explain how you resolved it.
Customer Service Representative
I got an email to set up a phone interview. I talked to Gretchen on the phone, and she asked me to come in for an interview. I had to take a really intimidating math test (but don't sweat it, it looks harder than it is, and it doesn't count for much). Then, I interviewed with 4 managers in a room. They all took turns asking me questions like how I handle stress, if I've ever had issues with a coworker and how I dealt with it, and for a time I went the extra mile.
- What would you do if your boss gave you instructions that you were sure were wrong or would negatively impact the company or project? Should you tell them they are wrong, or just do it anyway?
Marketing Head
HR called me and scheduled two rounds of interviews. The first one was with the CRO and the director of marketing, which was a really nice overview and conversation. The second round was with senior management, but they seemed mostly unimpressed and bored. I gave them some updates, but then I never heard back.
- Can you tell me about the first concert you attended and the most recent one?
Artist Services Representative
The interview process was pretty good, though it took a while to get a response back. It was a positive experience overall. I had two interviews, one with the recruiter and another with the department heads, and both were done over Zoom.
- Describe a situation where you encountered a challenging customer and explain the steps you took to resolve the issue.
