First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CCTV.
Project Manager
There were 2 phone/video interviews with 2 interviewers. Then, a 30-minute written test on logic and different questions. I had to email the answers right after. They responded quickly.
- Can you introduce yourself in just one sentence?
Journalist
Candidates were selected based on written tests. Each interview consisted of two parts: a Chinese interview and an English interview. Five interviewees were present with their cameras on. There were approximately 5 interview sets happening concurrently, with each set focusing on a specific job field.
- What are your thoughts on the current doctor-patient relationship, and how would you assess the medicare reform, offering any recommendations?
- Could you elaborate on the distinctions between traditional and new media?
- If you had to pick a single word to characterize the Middle East, what would it be and what's your reasoning?
Associate Producer
After submitting an application, I was contacted by a headhunter. Then, I attended a single 20-minute interview with two interviewers. The setting was quite casual and didn't offer much insight into the company. We weren't given a tour, the interview took place in a private office at the front, and they didn't share a lot of details.
- What makes you want to work for CCTV?
- Would you be okay with doing primarily research?
- Are you comfortable with a hands-off work style?
Graduate Student
So you first apply, then there's like an initial screening. Then you have one or more interviews, can be phone, video, or in-person. There might be some assessments and then a final decision.
