Behavioral Technical Presentation

I went through an initial phone screening, then an interview with the design team, followed by another with marketing folks, but I didn't make it past that. I think there's one more interview with the CEO before an offer, if it gets that far. Everyone seemed nice and it mostly went well. But during the phone screening, they asked if I'd signed up for a free learning account, which I wasn't ready for. Their site is a bit hard to navigate to make that account right now. As a web design candidate, I was asked what I'd change about their site, so keep that in mind if you're applying for a design role. I suspect maybe they weren't keen on me working remotely, even though the job said Eugene, OR Remote (U.S. only). One interviewer mentioned it would be tough to connect with the team and collaborate if I couldn't ever meet them in person or at the office. That was pretty much the last thing we talked about in my final interview.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The recruiter Mat was great to work with. Trainers Keith and Jeff were on the call and were friendly and it was nice to meet them. The COO Ryan was thoughtful and seemed like a nice guy. They asked me some questions like why do I want to do training? In the later part of the interview we went into the technical part of the interview . I thought they were testing my technical ability I later found out they were also testing my teaching ability at the same time. I don't think they made that clear and it threw me off a bit. I don't think they were able to get a grasp of my teaching style because of that. But all in all it was a positive experience and I was able to learn a lot.

I had a phone chat with HR, then an in-person interview with two people from the department. After that, someone from the staff sent me a take-home test. It felt unfair because they didn't mention it beforehand. I passed on the take-home test because I'd heard stories about companies using these for free work and exploiting candidates. Honestly, don't even bother applying. This is probably why they talk about their company culture being 'don't care who gets credit' – they'll just take your ideas and you might not even get the job.

Behavioral Technical Group

Got a call from a recruiter who told me about the job and company. Then I met with the Owner, HR Director, and a Renewals Manager all at once. It was a panel interview, which might be tough if you expected one-on-one. The office felt really chill and open, with a modern software company vibe - open layout, nice building, free coffee, snacks, casual dress. People seemed happy. The interview was good, they asked common and some industry-specific questions, and it was easy to talk to them. They answered my questions openly. They think they might make me an offer, which would be great!
