So, there was this questionnaire to begin with, and then we moved on to the interview. It was pretty formal, with two people interviewing me. Funny thing is, I actually used to work there ages ago and knew both of them, but they acted like they'd never met me before.

Initially met with an HR rep. The interview seemed pretty standard until we got to talking about their in-house training. They fly you down to their warehouse/training center in Alabama, south of Montgomery, for two weeks. From what I saw, students live in barrack-style rooms and can't leave the compound. I asked if I could drive myself and was told no. I also asked about having a rental car for the weekend, and that was also a no. I got a really bad feeling about this whole setup; it sounded like an indoctrination center. The inability to leave the compound felt creepy. I'm not sure I would have taken the job even if offered, and I suspect my hesitation about that part might have disqualified me.

It was a nice and very formal interview process. They asked me about my previous experience and what I thought would make me a good fit for the role. I also had to answer some questions about SQL and other hardware-related topics.

HR screening and technical interviews will be part of CBE's external debt specialist interview process. They want to check your motivation, financial knowledge, analytical skills, and if you'd be a good fit for the team. That's it, nothing special, mostly just screening and making sure you meet the requirements.
