This interview had a strange atmosphere. For the first half, two repairmen were working on the ceiling right behind me, setting up a ladder. The interviewer didn't offer to move us to a different room until about ten minutes in, even though most of the office was empty. In the second half, I felt like the other interviewer hadn't read my resume beforehand. There were a few minutes of silence while they looked it over and came up with questions on the spot. The whole experience felt a bit thoughtless, although the hiring manager I first spoke with was very nice. They asked standard interview questions.

The interview process really varies depending on the position level. For salaried roles, expect about 3-4 interviews, while hourly positions typically have 1-2. It can take anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks to wrap things up. Just so you know, from the recruiting side, we really prefer candidates to send in cover letters explaining why they'd be a great match. A big part of our questions focuses on your previous job experiences, and we love hearing about concrete examples from your history.

I applied online and heard back for a phone interview. The interviewer was really late, like 40 minutes. Then I had a face-to-face meeting, and I even had to pay $15 for parking. It seemed to go well, and they said I'd get an offer that night. But then, two days later, they called me for another phone interview. That also went fine, and they asked for references, which I gave them right away. They mentioned a background check authorization was coming. After three days, I checked in and was told they were still checking my references. Two more days passed, and they said the background check would be ready in two days, with an answer soon after. I waited a whole week, checked again, and they told me thanks, but they'd hired someone else. Their communication was bad, and they didn't respect my time. Really unprofessional.

It was a phone interview, with an onsite component planned. They asked me to introduce myself, state my location, and my salary expectations. Unfortunately, nothing significant happened during the call, and I didn't receive an offer. I suspect my lack of H1B sponsorship might have been a factor.
