Machine Learning Engineer
A recruiter reached out about the role. I was given a take-home assignment that seemed to be based on a real project. The task was to build a RAG system for CBC data. I put a lot of effort into it, dedicating four full days and completing all parts, including the optional ones. However, after weeks of no contact, I got a generic rejection email without any feedback. I suspect they were more interested in my code and ideas for their project than in hiring me. It was a pretty letdown experience.
- Could you design a RAG system specifically for CBC data?
Machine Learning Engineer
So I started with a coding test, it had three questions, just standard programming ones. Then, about a week later, I had a phone interview where we mostly talked about my resume. They mentioned a panel interview was next, but then I didn't hear back.
- Can you tell me about your experience with the ML tech stack?
Machine Learning Engineer
First, a call with an external HR person to chat about your background. Then, an online coding test (leetcode easy). If you pass that, you'll talk to internal HR to schedule a 1-hour meeting with the team, where they'll ask general technical and behavioral questions based on your experience.
- Can you tell me about a machine learning algorithm you've used in your previous work?
